WHAT IS AN IGP?

IGP stands for Individual Graduation Plan. Our state requires that our students and parents receive individual conference and planning time with a school counselor starting in the eighth grade, and continuing through their senior year of high school. The conference time in middle school is utilized to discuss what each students' career goals are and how they plan to reach that goal as they progress through each year until graduation.

The conference time is used to discuss grades, attendance, career surveys and career choices. The goal of the conference is to allow for positive discussion about each students' academic future as well as giving parents and students access to viable academic and career related resources.

IGP conferences are currently under way here at Starr-Iva Middle School for all eighth graders. All parents will receive a letter in the mail with conference time. All conference dates and times can be rescheduled as needed to accommodate parents.
