Anderson County School District Three Comprehensive Health Plan
Anderson County School District Three realizes the importance of healthy children in our schools. Our goal is to instill students that are cognizant of their health and how their behavior can promote healthy living. Through a Comprehensive Health Plan and lessons in health classes, our students will learn to recognize positive behaviors. We want students that make good and healthy decisions in our schools. Our plan addresses the state standards as noted on the SC State Standards for Comprehensive Health. We have outlined the key concepts that will be taught, and we have included a matrix with the topics that will be addressed in each grade along with the materials that will be used in each area.
Because we believe that Comprehensive Health is so important to our students and community, we have many key individuals that help make up our plan. Our guidance department and counselors teach weekly lessons, our Physical Education teachers play an important role in facilitating Comprehensive Health in our elementary schools, and our teachers take initiatives to describe and ensure that our students are practicing healthy habits and are being taught healthy habits. Each school has its own individual activities that promote these topics that will be addressed in each section.
