Anderson 3 Superintendent Kathy Hipp was surprised with the United Way of Anderson County Women United βCarol Burdette Woman of the Year Awardβ at the Fall Women United Luncheon.
The award was presented by Carol Burdette, United Way of Anderson Countyβs CEO Emeritus, who praised Hipp for her long-time commitment to students, education, and the community. Burdette noted Hippβs strong advocacy for United Wayβs Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, describing her as a steadfast champion for initiatives that improve outcomes for students and families.
Mrs. Hipp reflected on the direct impact the program has made in Anderson 3, noting that since its introduction, Crescent High Schoolβs on-time graduation rate has increased from 67% to 91%.
βMaking good decisions not only affects teen mothers, it also affects potential teen fathers,β Hipp said. βI am so proud of the work United Way has done to shift Women Unitedβs focus to early literacy, because the impact of reading early not only shapes educationβit shapes the entire trajectory of a childβs life.β
Hippβs leadership in Anderson 3 has consistently centered on student success, community collaboration, and innovative support systems. Under her guidance, the district has embraced programs and partnerships that equip students with the tools they need to thrive.
Anderson 3 is proud to have Mrs. Kathy Hipp as our superintendent and uncommon leader, a true example of how one personβs dedication can create a lasting, positive impact on both education and the community! Congratulations!
