Meet our first #A3AllStar of 2021, Mrs. Candace Madden!

Meet our first #A3AllStar of 2021, Mrs. Candace Madden! 🌟

This year, Mrs. Madden entered her 9th year as a Math teacher at Crescent High School! Candance is a Crescent grad herself, returning home after falling in love with the school's size and family atmosphere.

Mrs. Madden and her husband Brent have been married for six years and have one son, Hudson, four years old. After graduating from Crescent, Madden earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education Math from Anderson University. She later received her Master's degree from Arkansas State University in Educational Theory & Practice. "My family and I have deep roots in this community, and we still reside in Iva, where we attend Gethsemane Baptist Temple and own a local business. I like to spend my days being outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with family!"

-"What do you value most about your position?"

"The relationships that are created. I get to surround myself with an amazing community of people (faculty, students, and parents), and those bonds that are created go beyond my classroom and the school building. Even as time passes, students graduate, and people move away, we stay connected and encourage each other always."

Here are three facts about Mrs. Madden:
1. I married my high school sweetheart. We started dating in 9th grade. πŸ’–
2. Singing is one of my favorite things to do and the best stress reliever. Love me some car JAM SESSIONS! 🎢
3. I love to travel and have been to several places outside of the US, including Peru, Jamaica, and Mexico. ✈️

-"What does working in education mean to you?"

"Working in education is all about LOVE. The blood, sweat, and tears that go into the everyday aspect of this career all center on the relationships nurtured throughout the school year and the learning experiences you weave in along the way. There are days of kind, genuine love, and then there are the days of tough love, but the outcome, in the end, is what you keep your sights set on. When a student leaves my class, I want them to feel smarter, stronger, and more independent, but most of all, LOVED!"

Thank you, Mrs. Madden, for making a positive impact on the students of Crescent High School! Congratulations on being nominated as our #A3AllStar of the week! πŸ’›
