Meet, Joyce Stone!
Mrs. Stone has joined the Nutritional Services team at Crescent High School! Joyce is a native of the Starr-Iva area and a Crescent alumni herself! She and her husband Rob have been married for 20 years. They live in Starr with their daughter Jozie who is a 9th-grade student at CHS.

Today the Michelin-Starr Plant generously donated a plethora of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to Starr-Iva Middle School! Their delivery included 4,000 gloves, 4,000 disposable masks, 450 mini hand sanitizers, spray bottles, safety goggles, disinfecting wipes, and much more!

Census workers will hold a drive-through 2020 Census assistance event on Friday, September 25, from 3-5 PM at the Starr Town Hall. Census participation in the Starr-Iva area continues to be the lowest in the county. Each person counted equals approx. $809 in funding! Seniors Isaac Hilley and Dylan Powell were recently selected to participate in Michelin's Youth Apprenticeship Program for the 2020-2021 school year.
The apprenticeship program is a paid internship that gives students hands-on training and learning experiences. Completing the program leads to a smooth transition to the workforce and the possibility of full-time employment with Michelin upon graduation.

Our students are loving our new touchless, sensor-activated, bottle filling stations! We have equipped each school with at least one station, allowing students quick access to water throughout the day.

Meet, Mrs. Cindy Daniel!
Mrs. Daniel has retired from Anderson 3 after 16 years.
During her time in A3, Cindy served as a K4 & K5 kindergarten assistant, a computer lab facilitator, and a special education assistant. Daniel worked in A3 from 1998 to 2011 and then re-joined the district in 2017, becoming a LEAP team member at Iva Elementary. She was flexible throughout the years as the district grew, filling positions at each elementary school.
-"What do you value most about your position?"
"My roles allowed me to get to know the students, along w/their families; building bonds & relationships that last a lifetime!"
-Here are five facts about Mrs. Daniel:
1. I went sky-diving for my 50th birthday. ๐ซ
2. I've been to Africa on a mission trip. ๐
3. I've traveled across the USA by train. ๐
4. I met my husband at Starr-Iva Middle School. ๐ซ
5. I was a dental assistant before becoming a mommy, which led to my working in the school system. ๐ฆท

"I always enjoyed watching the faces of students light up as they'd learn something new! Their delight in their successes is priceless."
Cindy and her husband Daniel both retired from Anderson 3, just 20 years apart. Combined, they have a total of 43 years in our district.

Welcome, Kayla Johnson!
Ms. Johnson has joined the A3 Teaching Team in the Math Department at Crescent High School!
Kayla is a recent Anderson University graduate, where she earned her degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. Ms. Johnson has a love for mathematics and has wanted to be a teacher since elementary school. She has a passion for educating and building relationships with students. During her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling! She is super excited about starting her journey at Crescent High School, and we are happy to have her!

Welcome, Carrie Boyce!
Ms. Boyce has joined the A3 Teaching Team as a Special Services teacher at Starr-Iva Middle School!
Carrie has been teaching special education for over 21 years. She most recently taught at McCants Middle School in Anderson 5. Carrie and her husband are originally from Illinois but have lived in South Carolina with their four sons for 20 years. She is a huge Chicago Cubs fan, loves to golf, and participate in community theater. She enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs.
