Rowan Dicce, a first grader at Flat Rock Elementary has been courageously battling Burkitt Lymphoma. After months of treatments, hospital stays, appointments, prayers, and an incredible amount of strength, his family received the news today they have been waiting and praying for:

Flat Rock is overjoyed to welcome home two of our own who have recently battled cancer: Mrs. Stacie Gibson, 4th grade teacher, and Rowan Dicce, 1st grade student. 💙💚
Both have been cleared to return to school on Monday, September 14, and we could not be more excited to have them back where they belong — with their Flat Rock family.
To celebrate their return and honor the strength they have shown, we invite all students and staff to wear lime green in support of Rowan and dark blue in support of Mrs. Gibson on Monday.
Let’s fill the halls with love, hope, and plenty of blue and green as we welcome them home. 💚💙

Our 5th graders have been reading and writing about inventors, so last week they put their own creativity to the test! Students designed an original invention and presented a Shark Tank-style sales pitch, arguing why their invention was the most useful and deserved to be funded first! 🧠✨
Talk about putting reading, writing, creativity, and persuasive skills to work! 👏

📚✨ It’s almost time! Flat Rock Elementary kicks off a new school year tomorrow, August 6th! We can’t wait to welcome our students back for a year full of learning, laughter, and growth! 🍎🎒
All Anderson 3 students will receive FREE breakfast and lunch for the 2026-2027 School Year through the Community Eligibility Provision program, and we are so thankful to continue offering this for our students! 🎉🥪🍎
Students will also see whole milk available again as part of our school meal program, thanks to updated federal guidelines allowing schools to offer additional milk options. 🥛
We are grateful for our School Nutrition team and their work to make sure our students are fed, fueled, and ready to learn each day! 🍕😋🍉
