Congrats to our Cross Country teams on some outstanding performances in a very competitive region meet last night! Read below for a summary of the event from Coach Jordan. Specific congrats to Jesse Sauve, who finished 6th overall to make All Region!
Last night, Crescent went back to Liberty to run our Region Race. This is a very tough course, and the following runners ran their best race ever, even beating the time they ran at our home course last week - Mason Center, Ethan Hall, Michael McCall, Matt Mizzell, Caleb Ramsey, Jesse Sauve, Sydney Broadwell, Lydia Gray, Shiloh Holbrooks, Maggie Taylor, and EmmaGrace Vernon with Kaitlyn Gurley running her best race this year. Girls finished 4th and Boys finished 5th.
To put things in perspective, last year our average boys' time was a 21:19 and last night, they finished at an average of 19:15, which shows they have picked up about 2 minutes per runner. Even in August at pre-region, Varsity boys were a 21:20. Our girls' average last year was a 24:10 and last night, they finished at an 23:27. When we ran pre-region in August, our girls average was a 29:13. To say we have improved is an understatement to how hard they have been working since August. Highlight of the week: Jesse Sauve finished 6th overall, qualifying for All Region at a 17:22. Photo attached
