CRESCENT HIGH NAMES JOSEPH LONG (CLASS OF 2015) TO LEAD BOYS SOCCER

Welcome back to Tiger Nation, Joseph Long!  Crescent High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Joseph Long (Crescent Class of 2015) as the next Head Coach for the Boys Soccer program.  Long replaces Blaise Bourgeois, who will remain with the soccer program in coordinating scheduling and operations for both the boys' and girls' programs.

Coach Long comes back to Crescent after serving as a teacher and coach for two years at Westside High in Anderson.  He has coached at both the middle and high school level for the past two seasons and has a wealth of experience working with middle and high school students in a variety of different and unique capacities.  Among these experiences, he was part of an outdoor program working with youth backpacking in Montana for a number of years.

A 2019 graduate of Erskine College, Long is excited about the opportunity to return “home” to his alma mater to teach and coach.  “I am excited to return to Crescent to serve my alma mater and the community that helped mold me for many years. I’m excited to learn more about the students and athletes who now walk the halls that I once roamed myself. I look forward to using soccer as another tool to teach my student-athletes lessons that can be learned well beyond the classroom.”

“We cannot be more excited about having Joseph Long back at Crescent,” Athletic Director Jeff Craft said. “He was an outstanding student, athlete, and citizen during his time here, and we are looking forward to the impact he will have on our young people as a teacher and coach. I cannot wait to see all he will accomplish both on and off the soccer field!”

Joseph has been married to his wife, Sarah, since October of 2019. In addition to leading our boys' soccer program, Long will teach business education classes at Crescent.
