More First Day Fun at Flat Rock!

We had a great first day of school! Mrs. Johnson’s kindergartners went on a school wide hunt for clues and used their problem solving skills.

We are looking forward to meeting our Flat Rock families tonight at our Meet the Teacher event. Meet the Teacher will be from 5 PM - 7 PM. Make sure you bring your proof of residency. If you have not registered your student on the parent portal, we will have Chromebooks available for you to use. You may park in any area that is paved, but you will need to enter the school through the cafeteria doors on our front porch. As a treat, we will have the Kona Ice truck parked in front of the school. See the price list below. Welcome back!

Flat Rock families, this is an opportunity for your children to participate in a fall recreation sport.

The Flat Rock Elementary School library will be open on Wednesday, July 14th during the hours of 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM for book return and checkout. All rising first through fifth grade students are invited to return the books you took home for the summer and check out new books to keep until the beginning of school.

Last week, many of our students received a letter inviting them to our summer school program. These letters need to be returned by Wednesday, May 12th with either a yes or no response. If we do not receive the letter by Wednesday, we will consider this a "no" response and offer the invitation to another student. If you have any questions about our summer program, please call us at school at 864-296-9191 and ask for Mr. Powell or Mrs. Dodd.

Today, our third graders sneaked into the cafeteria to spread some appreciation for our cafeteria staff. Tomorrow is Lunch Hero Day!
