Next week, October 26 through 30, is Red Ribbon Week at Flat Rock Elementary School. We are partnering with AIM in their "Trick or Treat So Others May Eat" initiative. Students may contribute food items to this cause. Students will bring bags and information home on Friday. Bus riders will be able to put their contributions in a truck as they get off the bus on Monday, and car riders will be able to put their contributions in a truck when they get out of their cars on Monday. We will also have dress up days next week. Monday wear red. Tuesday dress as your favorite storybook character. Wednesday is mask up day. Students will be provided with a new mask to decorate. No other costumes should be worn on Wednesday. Thursday dress for farm day. Friday dress in your Halloween costume. Students may not wear full face make up or full face masks. No scary costumes are allowed. Hats are allowed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday if they fit with the theme. We are looking forward to celebrating Red Ribbon Week next week.

Mrs. Christenbury's students at Flat Rock Elementary use Adaptive Switches to bake and perform classroom tasks! Adaptive switches are input-output devices that allow individuals with physical disabilities to activate assistive technology devices independently. Her class is currently running a blanket fundraiser to purchase additional switches that stimulate different senses. For more information on the fundraiser, contact christenburyj@acsd3.org!
